Check Reporting AgenciesState of Texas Can you tell me if there is a time limitation for a item on Checktronics? My mother had a bank account over 7 years ago and told the bank to close it out, they didn't for over a month and charged her two service charges which she refused to pay. It is still on checktronics records and they say it cannot be taken off EVER. Anyone know? Thanks Last edited by totallybroke; 03-22-2002 at 09:18 AM. |

| Basically, Checktronics is a credit reporting bureau, and is subject to the Fair Credit Reporting Act. Therefore, they cannot report negative information that is over 7 years old. Send them a certified, return receipt letter. In it, ask them to provide you with a copy of your report. Once you get it, dispute the old/inaccurate information with another letter (also certified, RR mail). If they don't remove the old information at that point, post here again and we'll go from there. |
