Collection ProblemNew Jersey, About a year ago I woke up with a swollen face.. Unable to see my doctor I went to one of these walk in mediacal places. As soon as I got there I told them my husband was out of work and I had no medical insurance. Well to make a long story short he said that he could treat me but had to give me a battery of tests first any tests and would not know what to do until the results of the tests come in. I told him that I could not afford any tests and could not afford to go bankrupt. He then said if you were dying from a brain tumor wouldnt you want to know about it? I explained to him that if I had a brain tumor at this time there would be nothing I could do about it. He still insisted that I take the tests. I said thats it and left his office upset, scared and humiliated. I also left without paying. Now he is sending it to a collection agency. I feel there is a principle involved here. I went to my own doctor the next day and got an antibotic and was fine. Is there anything I can do????? |

| Even in not accepting treatment, you did use the services of the doctor. You're being billed legitimately, and you should pay. If you choose not to pay, you can certainly try to fight it with validation, but you're going to lose in the end if they want their money. Just pay the darn thing. |
