Question

Is there a statue of limitation placed on how long you can attempt to collect on a debt? My car was stolen in 1995, the insurance company settled but there was still a large balance. I believe the company repo'd the car, they deny this. I was not contacted for 2 years, now they are trying to collect. Do I have any rights? I live in Cleveland, OH.

My response:

We'd like to assist you; however, you apparently didn't see that red writing up at the top of the page. Without your State name, or the name of the State where the problem happened, it would be difficult to assist you. Laws are different everywhere.

Thank you for your cooperation, and we look forward to you editing your post.
