Confused about Small Claims and Collection Agencies - Rephrased

*** Better wording: Collection agency sends amount to attorney for collection. Attorney takes to court for judgement.

1. Can a judgement be appealed within 30 days as part of the amount was written off by one of the original creditors favorably. They made an error and wrote off amount as restitution. This is verifable, however, they just forgot to notify the collection agency (assuming) Yes have write off in writing.

2. Would it be better to go to the handling attorney and negotiate. I am assuming he has applied attorney fees as well.

3. What purpose does small claims have when some collection agencies turn over to an attorney who then tacks on his fees.

Just don't understand this part.
