Is it in my best interest to make a settlement before my april 22nd court date? The collection agency is threating with garnishment if I dont settle before the court date. The total they seeking is 2800.00 but they will settle for 1400.00 but I only have 1100.00 to give them. And they wont take the 1100.00. They also said I didnt need to show for the court date. It was a mere formality...they told me.

Of course they told you not to show !!!! If you don't show they win, on THEIR terms automatically and you lose ALL chances to negotiate on YOUR terms. Don't listen to them, they LIE, they'd love to win w/o a fight. I answered your other post about settling.
