Credit Agency TroubleLiving in California and I recently checked my credit report. Apparently a lady with exact name and social security number is alike and only two numbers reversed. They put her bankruptcy and ALL of her credit cards on MY account. Granted I had a bankruptcy 9.5 years earlier and is coming off my record in a few months I have had good credit since then! I've written all the credit agencies asking them to remove her stuff (which is almost30-40 credit cards) I've given a detailed account of which stuff was mine and which is presumed to be hers. Since then they have removed little or none of the cards. I've even written to the banking institutions in which the card belongs to, asking them to remove this from my record. To no avail scores of her credit cards and bankruptcy are still on my record. What steps do I take to get rid of this ladies record off mine!? please help this is so frustrating. |

| Oh.. merging of credit files happens far too often. What kinds of dispute letters have you written to the credit bureaus ?? Under the new FACT Act, you are now allowed to contact the creditors DIRECTLY to dispute how things are reported to the bureaus. Sounds to me like its time to get very tough with these bozo's, intent to sue letters would NOT be over the top in the least. There are a few cases out there that the bureaus have LOST due to this kind of crap. I suggest you try either www.creditinfocenter.com or www.creditboards.com for some tactics on how to attack this. Is this person's name and SSN showing up on YOUR reports ? Have you disputed BOTH name and SSN ???
