credit card

What is the name of your state? Wi.
This is going to be a weird question.
My ex husband's mother used to allow him to charge on her sears charge account, about 12 years ago she died and he continued charging on it and paying it monthly. Recently the lady at Sears said why are you paying this bill? you are not responsible for it, then he explained it to her and she said she would try and get it put in his name. He got the letter back from Sears that said since he had filied bankruptcy 6 years ago they wouldn't put it in his name.
Well, since then he has lost his job and was forced into early retirement and is struggling to get his bills paid, he is going to file bankruptcy again when the year is up. but he can't file on this bill because it is not in his name. Is he legally responsible? and is there anything he can do? The bills are his bills but the name is not his but his mothers.
thank you,

To add to your other post, which you should have jumped bumped instead of redoing. He can still file this with his bankruptcy. It can still be considered his debt if he signed his name to the charge tickets. Has he pulled his credit to see if it is listed on there?
