Credit Card Fee?

What is the name of your state? Kansas

I recently forgot to close my credit/debit card tab at a bar. I returned the next day closed the tab and took my card back. Upon reviewing my statement I noticed the bar had charged an extra $24 dollars. I contacted the bar and they said it was a $20 fee for failing to close my tab and an additional 20% gratuity to the bartender. They never told me about the fees when I closed my tab and there was no sign posted. I contacted the bank and informed them the $24 was unauthorized and they credited it to my account. Is it even legal for the bar to charge me this fee? Can the bank or me press charges for unauthorized use of my card?

**A: there is no unathorized card use issue because when you went in to the bar you gave your card to them for the sole purpose of establishing a tab.

Also, that "credit" is temporary until the bank has a chance to investigate - you're not out of the woods yet on that

I see no unauthorized use of the card & no case by you or the bank against the bar.
