When you say, "she has charged me with theft and fraud", exactly what do you mean? Has she merely accused you or has she filed a police report?

If she has filed a police report, then the police and district attorney will make a determination whether or not to pursue criminal charges. This is sometimes referred to as "pressing charges" but that is not quite the right term since only the DA can file criminal charges. If that were to happen, you will clearly need a criminal defense attorney.

Your sister could also file a civil complaint. In other words, she sues you. You would need a civil defense attorney.

I hope the two of you can work this out without going to court.
