Credit Card IssueWhat is the name of your state? MD I have a question and am wondering if anyone can assist. Before I left for college (was living in AZ that time with mom and stepfather), I gave my mother one of my credit card with a 1,500 limit (my parents were going through hard time and I was being a good daughter by loaning them the card). Keep in mind I was embarking on my college education with no money and on a free scholarship ride. One summer I came home to find 4 credit cards under my name that my mother has forged and used, running about 9k in debts. I confronted my mother and we cut up the cards. (I was still jobless that time). The collection agency has been sending the letters and I have never received any one of them since they were sent to my home address and not my college address. My question is If I tell the creditors the charges aren't mine, will they investigate and trace the charges to my mother and charge her with fraud? Or do I just pay it all off and go after my mother myself in small claims court to recover the cost of the debt re-payment? ![]() |
