Credit card judgement. Help

What is the name of your state? Texas.
I had a judgement against me in the state of Texas for a credit card bill. At the time I got served the statue of limitation was in effect so I hired an attorney who agreed that the statue of limitation was in effect. But to my dismay I got a judgement against me because my attorney failed to file a response before the 50 days expiration even though I handed him the reply way ahead of time. Now I have a jugdement against me and its already in credit report. Please can you tell me the legal ramifications of this and what can be done to rectify this. I could have fared a lot better if I had done if by myself. Pls help me.
