Credit Card not mine

I am currently in Florida. I just checked my credit reports and there is a credit card in my name that was opened in 4/2000 and ran up to 4300.00. Now first i have always had bad credit. This has been in collections ever since, so i filed a dispute with all three credit reporting agencies. The bank all said this belongs to me. So i talked with the bank and filled a statement that this was fraud and did not belong to me. Now the investigator has actually been nice. He said that the date of birth on the card is 1937 mine is 1971 but the address is my old address from 2000. He wants me to fax a copy of my dl and ss card to him. For this im uncertain what to do. Also i asked him for information like application, contract, signature, purchase amounts, just anything. But he told me there is nothing at all to give me because of the age of this. So now what do i do and what does he want with my driver license and ss card?

He needs to verify YOUR identity, SS#, birth dates etc. If you want this fraud investigation to go forward, send him what he's asking for. Clearly a BD of 1937 is NOT you and your DOB should be on your DL. The SS# will also tell when and where the card was issued. If your DOB is 1971, then that number will have been issued since then.
