Credit counseling??

What is the name of your state? VA

I went to a credit counselor to help keep my house from going into forclosure. They are a non profit org. They did pay the back due amt for my house. (which I am very grateful for) Now I get in the mail a payment book to pay them back at @80.00 a month?? I have never heard of them asking for any money back before? I know other people who have went there for assistance and have never been asked to pay anything back.

I am on SSI and am not able to pay this back. I am getting $423.oo a month to live on and my house payment is 305.00 I am also a single parent. I am at a loss to explain this? Any suggestions, comments?? tia

What is the place you went through? I have never heard of a counseling place paying on a debt up front. Usually you give them a set amount and they dole it out to your creditors.

You owe them money. They kept you from losing your house. But without some more information I do not know how to answer this.
