Credit Debt Question.

Hi,

I've been in the United States for a little over six years. I have credit cards debts that run into thousands for medical bills and groceries that has been accrued since last year. I was laid off from there on from my "real" job. Now my status/visa is running out and i have to return back to my country. How will affect me if leave the US? Will there be charges filed? How bad can it get in terms of credit score and otherwise? Will i be arrested for leaving the country with bad debts? Im terrified of such a situation happening..

If you leave the US, never to return, then there's not a damn thing the creditors CAN do as its unlikely they'll pursue you out of the country. The debts will be charged-off and your credit will be toast - at least in the US. Some or all of them could, at some point, sue you for the debts, but if you're not here and not coming back, it really makes no difference.

You can NOT be arrested for not paying a debt in the US. Go back to your own country and start over. If you're not coming back here, you have nothing to worry about. If you DO come back, they could, conceivably, track you down and try to make you pay, but you will not be arrested or prevented from re-entering the US.
