Credit ReportWhat is the name of your state? GA I had some negative items to fall of my credit report this year. The original creditor showed a charge off/ date of last activities of 3-96 and that record is no longer showing on my report. However, the same account is still showing up as a collection account. The credit report is showing that the collection agency received the account and has a date of last activities in 1999. My question is should their account have also fallen off or can the same account be reported 7yrs from the date the CA received it? I have never made a payment to CA that would renew terms. Thanks in advance for your advice. |

| NO ! Collection accounts CANNOT survive the original creditor's entry. Dispute it with the 3 CRA's as obsolete. If the CA really has re-aged the debt illegally, it is a violation of the FCRA and you can sue 'em for it.
