credit report results

What is the name of your state? Ohio
I recently recieved a copy of my credit report. I have an outstanding credit card debt on cross country bank from 1997.
The credit limit was $350 it has now gone to 3 other credit collectors and is at $750 on my report it shows 4 detrimental accounts for this one card. I recently inquired about a home loan and was told I need to clear this up. I need to find out how to get the 4 seperate entries off of my credit report. I filed bankrupcy in dec. of 1994 and it was discharged in june 1995. I also had an entry for a hospital bill for $50 which was paid and it does not indicate that. Also a judgement against me was entered twice for the same hospital bill over $2000 one of them indicates it was satisfied. My question is how do I clear this up?

Thank you
Kevin Carpenter

Were these collections included in your bankruptcy ?

If so, and they do not say 'included in bankruptcy' on your reports, then you need to dispute them with the credit bureaus ASAP. The credit card you haven't paid on since 1997, if that IS the case, is past the 4 year statute of limitations for being sued in OH. You MAY be able to get that one removed with a dispute as well. A poster on another board has created a letter for just this purpose, but I can't find it right at the moment. When I do, I'll post it back here.

The name of the game here is dispute, dispute, dispute first. Then you go from there. You'll probably end up sending some documentation to support your disputes, so if the judgement is satisfied, you'll need that information and dispute the 2nd entry as a duplicate.
