Credit Reporting Unfairness

I had an auto repossession in Florida which shows up on my report three times. The bank which financed my car later sold the loan to another bank after it was repossessed. Republic Bank (bank #1) reported the item as a Charge off for $23,000 (the remaining balance). The bank which later bought the loan and sold the car reported it again. It shows up with Wachovia (bank #2) as a Charge off for $5,300 (the portion they did not recover as a result of their selling it). It shows up again a 3rd time with Bank #1 and simply states "Call Member for Status". Is this fair? Anyone looking at my report would think this is at least two different bad debts because there are two different amounts and bank names. Please advise.

Dispute them with the bureau as being duplicates of the same debt. The bureau should delete all but one.
