Debt collectionI live in Nebraska. I've been threatened that my account would be turned over to a collection agency if not paid in full in 10 days. Can they do this even if I've been making regular monthly payments? And what about the fact it said "FINAL NOTICE" even though there had been no previous warning? Thanks! |

| Tactics, tactics.. that's pretty much what that is. What kind of an account is it ? Credit cards won't generally send to collections if you're paying them regularly. Hospitals and dr's offices are more likely to send you to collections because they expect to be paid in full at the time services are rendered. In that case, the answer is "Yes", they can do it and its legal. |
