debt & collection problems.

What is the name of your state? california I have received notification from debt collection angency that I have an outstanding debt, which I wasn't aware of.This problem was a result of a vehicle that I owend was stolen and removed from private property I notified the police immediately they informed me
that it was at a towing & storage facility. I contacted the towing company they said if I want possession of my property I had to pay them a fee for storage I figure the car was an old car and not being used and it was'nt much use to me. It didn't make since to pay more than the car was worth to retrieve it. Now two months from the date I receive a notice from a debt collection angency that if I dont pay this outlandish fee of $604.57 that they were going to submit a negative credit report reflecting on my credit report. This is clearly a case of being vitimize twice my possession was stolen my individual rights were violated and im being pressed to pay some enormous fee which I dont have within thirty days or I will be penalize thats is very unconstitutional. please help me!

Unconstitutional ?? I don't think so. You knew where the car was, a fee was due and you didn't pay it. In this country, when you don't pay your debts, it can and WILL go on your credit report, there's nothing 'unconstitutional' about it.

Chances are pretty good its ALREADY on your credit report, so you might want to check it. No way around it, pay it or suffer the credit report hit - either way the negative will sit on your credit report for the next 7 years, either as an unpaid collection, or a paid collection if you pay it.
