debt collection/time limitations

Missouri

Is there a time limit debt collections. for example, if it is a debt from 14 years ago, can a collection agency come after you now, even though it was said to be resolved and no one has contacted you in that time span. it is a credit card debt.

Gee.. let me guess.. the collection agency is CAMCO ???

CA's can TRY to collect until hell freezes over, but once the legal statute of limitations (SOL) runs out, they lose all their legal bite to force you to pay it. You do NOT have to pay this dinosaur debt !!

What you do now is you send them the following letter:

The MO statute you need for the letter is on the same site, here:

Send the letter certified, RRR, keep copies of it and the receipt when you get it back.

If this is SCAMCO, go over to www.cardreport.com and post a message to Scott, put CAMCO in the subject line. He can send you info you need to file complaints and get rid of them for good.
