debt owed

What is the name of your state? texas I am behind on my credit cards payments. I could not meet the payments. So i got a call from a lawyer saying that i was fixing to be issued a summons if i did not work with to pay off my bill. this is the first contact i have had with these lawyers, then about 4 days later i got a letter from them My question is this legal to do. call before they send me a letter.

From just the information contained in your post, the FDCPA is not being violated.
