My mother recently passed away. She and my father both had credit cards with only their single names on the account. They are seperate accounts with different account numbers. Does my father have an obligation to pay the remaining balance on my mothers card? He's not trying to avoid debt but they have next to nothing and avoiding that small payment each month would help. THX

Your father is not responsible for the credit card debts of your mother. Send a letter to the credit card company along with a copy of the death certificate.
