Dismissed with prejudice means that the lawsuit will be over for good. So, if you pay the settled amount, they will not continue with the lawsuit. Either way, it is going to be on your credit report. It will either be settled for a lower amount OR the plaintiff will continue the lawsuit, potentially get a judgment for the FULL amount, and then be able to collect the amount of the judgment, plus fees and interest. They will be able to garnish your wages after they get the judgment.
