Does Location of Lending Institution's Main Office Matter?

I posted a question that was answered by Halket.

The questions were answered quickly, but I forgot to ask one last question.

I'm not sure if this is the case in my situation, but... does the location of the lending institution's main office matter in determining SOL?

I.E.
A personal loan was taken out in North Carolina, but the lending institution's main office is located in Virginia (again, I don't know if this is the case... I just want to be prepared). Does NC's SOL apply or VA's?

It would depend on what is stated in the loan agreement document. There is ususally a clause that states, "this agreement is governed by the laws of the State of __________" so check out what it says. Each State has varied SOL.
