Fake Cashiers Checks

What is the name of your state? Georgia
I have a very tricky problem, and I hope someone can help me, please! Recently, I was the victim of a scam when I tried to sell my car online. The person trying to buy my car sent me a chashiers check for over the amount and told me i needed to cash it and wire three thousand dollars to the company who was supposedly picking up my car. (Stupid, I know, but it sounded ok at the time.) So I took the check to my bank. They did not hesitate to give me the three thousand in cash and deposit the rest into my account. Well, the check turned out to be fake. So, I alerted my bank asap. Now they have frozen my account and bounced all my checks (technically, they have not even gotten the check back yet, so why have they frozen my whole account?) So, my bill payments have bounced, as well as checks to the place where I work, which I could be terminated for. The bank told me I am completely responsible for the full amount, and that the only thing I can do is get a loan through them. They said I cannot even bring them the cash, that until I meet with a loan officer my account will remain frozen. Does the bank have NO liability in this? Am I really responsible for all of this? PLEASE someone help me!

No, they do not. You're the one who fell for the scam, not the bank.

Yes, unfortunately you are.
