False Claims on my Ccard, charged by web hosting service

- I reside in Madrid, Spain.
- The web hosting service I have a business with is based in the Sate of NY (Binghamton).

The web hosting company has charged me by mistake, the amount of 82,210 Japanese yen, against my credit card information. I communicated the issue with them by email and they have admitted their mistakes and promised me to credit the amount to my account within a few days after the communication.

However, since that day, despite of a series of emails I sent them to get informed of the current status of the payment, I stopped hearing from them. More importantly, the payment to me has not been made yet.

On August 8, 2005, I sent them another email, as a "demand for payment", to ask them to pay me the exact amount in JPY within 7 days, but nothing has changed so far.

What should I do?

You need to dispute this charge WITH YOUR CREDIT CARD COMPANY first. If its wrong, the credit card company will investigate and you'll probably get a credit. However, you only have a SHORT period of time to make that dispute so you need to get busy. Send your dispute to the credit card company IN WRITING - and that does NOT mean e-mail.
