filing bk lease question from former aptWhat is the name of your state? az i lost my job and had to transfer from denver to arizona to stay with same company. so they are charging me one extra month for breaking the lease, can i add that to my chapter 7 bk or not. and i just found out its going to cost over $1,100 dollars to file with a lawyer, is that too much? its like 880 dollars in lawyer fees and the rest covering the court and state fees |

| Yes, you can include the rent owed in your bankruptcy The price for an attorney varies so widely that it would be hard for anyone here to say whether or not some amount is too much or not. I'd call around several and find out what seems to be an average, then make your decisions from there. The federal filing fee for bk is $200, and that does NOT change by state. |
