Question

Find All Credit Cards in My Name?

What is the name of your state? Indiana
I was just wondering if there was a way to find out what credit cards are open/available and in my name? I've been getting a lot of calls and letters lately from our current credit card companies (Sears, Citibank, US Bank) offering us special interest lowering plans, even a pay-off plan for Citibank, that would take about $400 off our $1700 balance. A nice savings, but I don't have even the $500 right now, that they are requesting to "hold" this offer for my account. Whenever I tell them this, they suggest I do a balance transfer, and they bring up a few accounts that I didn't even know existed for me- two of which are Amex cards in good standing (they say) with available credit of $23,000 between the two! I have never opened an Amex account, and don't recall the other MC account they refer to. Is there a way that I can find out about these accounts without sending off for a Credit Report?

You better get those credit reports. If they are telling you about accounts you've no knowledge of, you may be a victim of ID fraud.

And be sure to get them from all THREE major CRA's.

Why has he spent over $1.35M in legal fees to block disclosure... rather than spend $12 for a VALID birth cert to settle the matter? The 'certificate' he has presented doesn't qualify to get a drivers license, wouldn't allow a child to qualify for Little League, or for a real citizen to get a US passport!

You should be able to order one report that covers all 3 CRA's.
It is called a tri-merged report in the mortgage biz.
