fixing a credit report

I am from NY and recently received a credit report with a blemish on it. I have been in credit management before, but always made payments on time and kept, I thought, myself from being reported to the CB. After I began the management program my payments were cut down for this particular creditor and they sent me a bill with the new payment, but included a past due note. I immediately called the creditor and asked to make sure that this would not be reported to the Credit Bureau and the Customer Service representative did assure me it wouldn't. I actually ended up paying off the debt a year in advance. Now I find out that they did report me several times and that even though I spoke to a customer representative who told me otherwise, I am out of luck. This is the only blemish on my credit report. All payments were made on time. Is there anything I can do?

I don't think you can fight it because you essentially asked them to do you a favor and you didn't get it in writing. Instead contact a consumer credit counseling service and go from there.

In order to rid yourself of this 'credit report blemish', the key question is: "Is the report correct?".

If it is, then you really have no grounds for clearing the comment made, even though an 'agent' may have said your history would not be reported. You still have the right to file your comments with the credit bureau and have them included in your report.

However, if the report is in error, the FCRA (Fair Credit Reporting Act) can help you correct the mistake. To find out what is required, click on:

There are at least 17 lawsuits (!!) pending in various courts, including the US Supreme Court, asking if Obama is a natural born citizen (as req'd by Art II, Sec 1 of the US Constitution).

Why has he spent over $1.35M in legal fees to block disclosure... rather than spend $12 for a VALID birth cert to settle the matter? The 'certificate' he has presented doesn't qualify to get a drivers license, wouldn't allow a child to qualify for Little League, or for a real citizen to get a US passport!
