fraud. What is the name of your state? IL. I am 19 y.o. and my dad promised to pay for my school, but my parents are in a big dramatic fight but they are not legally seperated or divorced and now he won't pay for the remaning $3,000. So I took his routing and account number and tried to pay for it online. When he found out, he said that the bank wanted to sue me for fraud. The payment was cancelled. My mom said that the money in the account is half hers, although her name isn't on the account. Could he get away with suing us for fraud if we continue to use his bank information for bills and things like that? |

| Ok, I'll bite. Are you seriously asking us if it's okay to STEAL from your father, by taking money from his bank account without authorization? |

| I am seriously am, the cops said that it is ok because it is a marital asset, and half of the money in the account is my mom's anyway. |

| No they didn't. That money will never be yours. There are NO circumstances where you can access it without permission. Your mother may have a claim on some of it - if she divorces your father and a court awards it to her (Illinois is not a community property state; she has no automatic claim to this asset). You, however, can not make a decision that it's a marital asset and then use it. |

| OP, you are a thief. You attempted to steal money that isn't yours. You should be prosecuted. DC
