GA Collection/Garnishment

What is the name of your state? Georgia

I'm behind about 6 months on @ 10k in CC debt.

I have 2 CC's threatening to sue for judgement/garnishment.

One is already represented by an atty.

1. Can they garnish wages in GA?
2. How long does it take to get judgement, enact garnishment?
3. Are debt settlement co's like Liberty Debt Mgmt effective?
4. Are debt elimination programs really effective or just a scam?

Thanks for the help!

1 - Yes. 25% of your take home pay

2 - A lot depends on the court's docket, but it could take months

3 - No, most of them are SCAMS that will completely ruin you.

4 - See #3.

Contact the creditors and see if they have any sort of a hardship plan. 6 months of nonpayment means they are still likely in the hands of the orginal creditor.
