GarnishmentWhat is the name of your state? OK A SIGNATURE LOAN COMPANY CALLED MY PLACE OF EMPLOYMENT AND TOLD THE RECEPTIONIST THAT THEY NEEDED TO TALK TO SOMEONE ABOUT. THE RECEPTIONIST ASKED WHAT IT WAS IN REGARDS TO AND SHE WAS TOLD THAT IT WAS ABOUT GARNISHING MY WAGES. NUMBER 1, MY PMT ISN'T EVEN A MONTH LATE YET. NUMBER 2 DIDN'T THEY JUST VIOLATE THE FDCPA? |

| I think we need a bit more information. Did you make some kind of arrangement with a collector ? If so, did you get it in writing ? How long have you paid on it ? As for the FDCPA violation.. maybe. They are not allowed to discuss your debt with anyone other than you, but that may not extend to telling a receptionist their call is about a garnishment. |

| there hasn't been a collection agency. it was a signature loan i was repaying. when its over 10 days late there's a $15 late fee and i have only recvd one past due notice. i simply have forgotten to run my pmt by. the call came from the loan company themself. |

| Oops.. sorry, I misread your post.. ![]() Are there terms in their paperwork about the time frame on missed payments and the actions they can take ? Sounds like they might have some really tight terms.. all in their favor of course. |
