Angry

My daugher was unemployed for 2 months. She is behind on all of her bills. She has called all of her creditors to work on payment arrangements. One of her creditors continues to make harrasing phone calls, even on Sunday. She has told them what she can pay, but they keep demanding more and have threatened to turn over to a collection agency. What can she do to stop the calls and get them to accept what she can pay? We live in Georgia.

harassing phone calls from creditors

we are in the same predicament.we live in FL, we recently moved and are behind on our bills. i asked the creditors to stop calling us, but the calls never stop. i have explained the situation and still they call everyday more than once and sometimes with a recording, to get us to call them back. they even called later the same day after i had already called them back and told them what our situation was, for the "zillionth" time.

my guess is they don't care about the situation, they just want their money. and even if you tell them to stop calling, they do anyway. i was told by someone that if you didn't want them to call you anymore to have them put you on their "no call list" and they were supposed to not call anymore. but i guess that didn't work for me, maybe it'll work for your daughter.. good luck

Read what I wrote on the subject of "Harrassed on a 10 yr old debt". It applies to your situation also.
