Help Lawyer Keeps ignoring us on preccess of bankruptcy

What is the name of your state? Kansas

90 days ago we made the decision to file for bankruptcy. We made a appointment with the lawyer and went thru the consultation. She requested $350 dollars to get the paper work done and another $210 at the time of filing. We made the final decision to go ahead with the bankruptcy process we gave the attorney $350 dollars. Its been 90 days now since we did that and the paper work for us to look over and sign still have not been completed. We have called a number of times. There first excuse was that they were short handed and hired a new attorney and it would be completed for us to sign in 2 weeks that was back at the middle of february. We waited 2 weeks and called again this time we was told they was in the process of updating there computer system and it shouldn't be more then 2 weeks and it be ready to sign this was first of March. We called 2 weeks later they said it was done and waiting for the final review from the attorney and then it be sent to us within a week. This was the middle of March. Now it is first of May and its been over 90 days since we hired this attorney to do the bankruptcy and we still keep getting the same answer everytime we call. That its done on the attorney's desk waiting for her to review it so it can be sent to us to sign. My husband's ex-wife hired a attorney for bankruptcy a month before we did and her's is already done filed and been thru the court system and she done bought a new van. At the time we gave the attorney the money she said to quit paying all our bills so now everything is being turned over collection agencies and we have notified everyone of the bankruptcy and the attorney's name and phone number but these places still keep coming and we still having to turn in collection notices to our attorney. My question is do we need to find a new attorney? Is there some way we can get this lady on move about this? What do we do?

Thanks for any help.

If this were me, I'd be parking my butt in that lawyer's office and demanding that they get on the ball or you'll fire her and call the KS bar association while you stand in their waiting room so ALL the clients can hear your complaint against them. Obviously calling them is doing you no good, pay them a visit and be prepared to sit and wait all day - be a pain in the butt where they cannot ignore you.
