im from ks. i was hospitalized in march of this year. i applied for "charity care" to pay for the $8,444 bill. i talked to the financial aid dept. a couple weeks ago, and told them i had applied for disability. now they wont submit my application until i receive a determination from social security. they told me i should set up pymt. arrangements, so i did that today. they told me they would accept $352/mo for 2 yrs. when i explained i couldnt make that kind of payment, they told me there was nothing they could do. they also told me that if i got a final letter stating they would turn me over to collections, to call them back. i dont know what to do. my husband is the only one working, and he barely brings home $1,100 a month. i dont want to be turned over, and i dont want his wages garnished. please help me!!

With income of $1100/month and a large medical bill, you should speak with a lawyer about bankruptcy. There is no way you can afford a wage garnishment and bankruptcy will end that threat.
