How Do I Find a Legal Aid?

Let's assumed my sister-in-law is being sued but she doesn't even know it (she doesn't read English), and she's poor, how can she find a legal aid to fight the case?

You or another family member should look in the phone directory under legal aid or, contact your county bar association for a phone number or a listing of lawyers willing to donate time for people like your sil. Also, try a "google search" using legal aid as the subject. You'll get a lot of sites. Good luck. My late in laws were Polish immigrants and they often were confused when shown documents in legalese or things like insurance claims, tax papers, etc. Fortunately, they had friends, family, and neighbors that were understanding and helpful.
