I desperately need adviceWhat is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? NJ Could someone please help me. Two days ago my credit card company called me to tell me they thought their might be fraudulent charges on my account. One was to match.com the other to some other porn website. I asked my husband and he said he did not intiate these charges. I called match.com and told them what happened. They pulled up my credit card info. and said they had a profile and pictures that were input using my credit card. They also said because I did not have the person's id or any information they would not provide me with any information. They gave me a credit, but said I need a suponea to get the info. I want this info., it may help me know who stole my card number. How can I get a suponea on my own, is it possible. I am really upset about this. They have information that can help me, but will not give it to me. Is this a federal offense, credit card fraud. What are my options. I know this is not alot of money 39.99 and 19.99, but the money is not the issue, it is finding out who did this, and stopping it from happening again or escalating into something else. Please Please someone, if they know what my options are I would truly appreciate it. The credit card company said they would do an investigation, but I do not think they are going to be able to get this acutal info. |

| You can not get this information, and its really not relevant. The credit card company will investigate, and the charges will be reversed. There is something else going on here, isn't there? You know, or suspect, who used your card, don't you? |

| It could be just a simple mistake by someone entering an incorrect card number, especially if they used a different name and their own photos. One of my credit card numbers was used by someone to order 3 sets of flowers by phone. But the name did not match, so the florist immediately reversed the charges and the bank put a hold on my card. They blocked an attempted charge at an on-line travel agency in Florida. I returned from vacation (elsewhere) to find a letter from my bank asking me to call. A new credit card was issued with new number and the only charge I disputed was a $205 charge at a local drug store posted while I was out of state on vacation. That charge was dropped and that was the end of it. So I hope you put a hold on your card and are having a new one issued. Since the bank flagged the account for possible fraud, something probably didn't match your account, so it may not be anything to worry about. |
