I want to know the consequences of my action

What is the name of your state?OhioWhat is the name of your state
Idid a really stupid, unresponsible, and immoral thing. I had a dear friend who was helping me out some financially, and I took advantage of that friendship and generosity. A couple of weeks ago a credit card application came to my house address to him. I know he has perfect credit, and I don't; which is why he was helping me in the first place. He's no longer able to do so, which I am so grateful for what he's been able to do anyway. I'm a single mother of a 16 yr. old. I am self employed and therefore do not always have a guaranted income. My stupid thing was opening the credit card in his name and also a card for myself. I have charged prescriptions and medication for my daughter, whose has been ill, and also charged a couple of delinquent bills; all total $1089.00. I did all this without his consent or knowledge. I am certain I will be able to pay this charge off in full within 1 week. But now the credit card company knows and notified him and the account is closed due to fraud. My question is who will be the one to press charges on me, the company of my friend, now lost. Should I explain to both parties that I will pay within 7 days, so his credit won't be affected? Please help

What you did is called IDENTITY THEFT. It is a felony. If either party decides to press charges against you, and they are entitled to do so, you will go to jail.

What you did is not only stupid, irresponsible, and immoral, it is also illegal. I'm sure your 16 year old daughter will be so proud of you while you sit in prison.

I had a person open a card in my name. The company didn't press charges. The person paid off the card and that was all they did.
