Identity Thief

Illinois.

I used the personal information of my father to obtained credit cards with the full intention on repayment. Well, obviously things did not go as planned and there were some serious delinquencies. I've recently paid them off. However, that relative has been denied credit due to my mistakes. I plan to confess to the credit card companies, what is my likely penalty?

Who knows.. if the relative decides to press charges it all depends on your state laws and how far the victim wants to push it.

Your FATHER needs to dispute all of YOUR criminal activity as ID theft and fraud and get the FRAUDULENT accounts off of HIS credit reports. He may need a lawyer, recovering from ID theft can take YEARS !!

Personally, I hope he nails you to the wall.. that's a rotten thing to do to your parents !

I agree with Ladynred. Identity Theft is a felony and you belong in jail. I hope your father presses charges.
