Inactive AccountsWhat is the name of your state? South Carolina I have several inactive accounts on my credit reports. These accounts were opened in 1995 - 96 and were never used. Could these inactive accounts affect my credit score? |

| Well, stuff that old is likely having no affect on your scores. I'd go to work on the things the CRA suggested that may help your score. Other than a good record of paying your bills, I think one of the things that is most important to the score is you credit utilization ratios {U/R's} on revolving debt. I saw something last year that said the average consumer only used 22% of the credit available to them. Look at your U/R and see how that compares to average. |
