Increase in APR

What is the name of your state? Idaho

What are my legal rights if my statements show only one late payment in the last 6 months and my CC tripled my APR because they said I had two. I looked back over my statements and there was a month when I made a payment of 183 instead of 184...that was suppose to have been my second late payment...subsequent statements never adressed this one dollar discrepency and never showed the one dollar as a past due amount.

I failed to mention in my initial post that prior to the one late payement in Feb of this year I have never had a late payment in the 4 years I have had an account with this particular CC company.

A: Your legal rights are to pay off the account in full and then cancel the card.

Pay on time and this will not happen. Read your CC agreement and you will likely find that they can raise your APR even for one late payment.

Get another CC and do a balance transfer with a low balance transfer rate. Pay that balance off ASAP and do not ever be late or charge anything on the new card until the trasnfer is paid off.
