What is the name of your state? massachusetts
can you get interest stopped on a credit card debt once a judgement has been made against you in court? the judgement was made to a collection agency and the card has not been used for 7 years. the original debt was charged to the card and then it was cancelled but not credited back.thank you in advance

Has the judgment already been granted ??? Did you go to court ?

The Statute of Limitations (SOL) for open accounts in MA is SIX years. Do you know when you last paid on the account ? The SOL clock starts ticking with that date. If the judgment hasn't been granted yet, and the last time you PAID on this account was 7 years ago, you can go to court and use the SOL as your defense to have the judgment dismissed.

If its already been granted, a judgment is good for 10 years and carries its own interest rate.
