Joint banking accountWhat is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? CA My ex and I had a joint bank account in the state of CA. In 2004, the account was greatly overdrawn (we were still married ) but was in the process of moving apart. He refused to help take care of it. I paid off everything that was owed including many overdraft fees. Can I sue him for half of what it cost or am I past the statue of limitations. Thank you for any help you can give me. |

| You can sue him either way. It's up to HIM to figure out if you are past the SOL and assert the defense. |

| You realize that the proper time to negotiate the debt responsibility was during your divorce proceedings? That is where your marital assets and debts were divided. Was it paid off before the divorce and was the debt addresed in the divorce? |
