Judgement deadline approaching

What is the name of your state? OH
I need advice fast. We received a summons on July 9th from the local City Hall that Citibank will make judement if not contacted within 28 days of letter. We called and, of course, they would not budge on any type of settlement. I called my lawyer to get advice on this matter, but he has not called me back. I told him we were considering bankruptcy, which we are about $23,000 in debt. I am on SSD and cannot afford $400 each month they want to garnish from my husbands paycheck. How can I stall them so that we can get in to see a lawyer? I am worried sick about this and need some peach of mind. I told the attorney that we came to see him about 1 1/2 ago and filled out papers for filing, but decided to try to pay back the creditors. Nothing went thru. So all he needs is updated info. I called 2 other attorneys today and one goes on vacation next week, and the first available appt. for the second attorney is Aug 6th. Please help.

You are allowed to reschedule the court date at least ONCE. If the court date is the 29th, call them this Thursday or Friday and request that the hearing be rescheduled. I don't know if they'll ask why, but you could always state that you just can't get out of work on the 29th, they know you have to work for a living. Obviously you want to stall it as long as you can. They may not give you any options, but if they do, you could buy yourself a couple of weeks at least.

I live in OH also. I have posted questions here and have not had many responses.

Post your question on this site and see what information you get back. This is truly an awsome site!! Creditnet.com.

Good Luck!

Melanie, I don't understand your claim of "I have posted questions here and have not had many responses."

From your records, you have a total of 5 posts.

One of them was your reply statement here (to someone elses post).

Another was your question and you received two valid responses (and you had two posts to this one).

The fourth was a confusing post about your having purchased a home from someone who had declared bankruptcy.... and was far too involved in contract law for someone to offer a valid response without reviewing the documents and facts...
http://forum.freeadvice.com/showthread.php?threadid=108683

And the final one was your reply to a post made by others.

I don't believe your statement of not having many responses is being correct.

There are at least 17 lawsuits (!!) pending in various courts, including the US Supreme Court, asking if Obama is a natural born citizen (as req'd by Art II, Sec 1 of the US Constitution).

Why has he spent over $1.35M in legal fees to block disclosure... rather than spend $12 for a VALID birth cert to settle the matter? The 'certificate' he has presented doesn't qualify to get a drivers license, wouldn't allow a child to qualify for Little League, or for a real citizen to get a US passport!
