Judgement: Seizure of Property

What is the name of your state? North Carolina

Good day.

I have a debt from approximately 5 years ago due to the reposession of a car. A judgement was filed and I did not contest. Approx a month ago I rcvd a Notice of Right to Claim Exemptions to Seizure. At the time I was living out of the country and did not have the means to find legal assistance. I called the owner of the debt and told them of my situation and that I would contact them when I returned. I also sent a letter to the Clerk of Court informing them that I had spoken with the debtor and requested and was granted a delay in the proceedings.

Apparently I took too much time to contact them. I have now recieved a notice that states I can now claim nothing as exempt.

A couple of questions I have.

1) Does this notice mean exactly how it sounds? Can they now seize any and all property that I have?

2) I have very little property, but some of it is property that does not belong to me. Upon my return to the US, family members set out to find things to furnish my home. This includes a TV, Couch, Chair, Mattress and Dishes. Can these things be taken even though I am not the 'owner' of them? Do I need to 'prove' this to the Sheriff? How can I do so?

3) I have a vehicle that falls under the same catagory. My father purchased it but put the title in my name (shortly before recieving the seizure papers). This is my ony mode of transportation and if it were seized, It would prohibit me from working. Can this be seized? Is there any way to avoid the seizure of this vehicle?

4) If I can not exempt certain things then they will be seizing my computer. Can I request to keep it for a certain amount of time so I can retrieve all data from it and back it up to disk?

5) At the moment I literally have no money and no job, and therefor can not consult an attorney. Do I have any other options to delay the seizure of my property until I have the means to seek legal advice?

Thanks in advance for any assistance you may be able to offer.
