Hello All,
I have a contract with an attorney to pay x amount of dollars for services my job provided. This attorney had an office but then disappeared. I recently found his home # and asked him about the amount that is owed and our plans to file a commercial claim. He told me he is claiming bankruptcy and doesn't really care. Since then I was awarded a certain amount and want to know if he does claim bankruptcy is this judgment useless?
Any response would be greatly appreciated!!! |
**A: read your contract to see who the parties to the contract were and who signed ie, did the attorney sign on behalf of and as an officer of the corporation or as an individual? Did the attorney contract your services as an indivdual (rather than a corporation) thereby making himself personally liable?
Also contact the Bar Association/Supreme Court and see what kind of complaint you can make.
