Exclamation

Lawer tried a quick one

What is the name of your state? Florida

I showed up at my regular time for a case in the Judges chambers at 9 am on the 13th. I am doing this pro se. The clerk informed me that the other side's lawyer showed up the day before the 12th and said I proably would not show up so he got a default judgement from the judge. I showed her the paper work that said the 13th. She called the lawyer and told him he needed to file an order to set aside the summary judgement because of error.

My question is, seeing I was there on the date and time I was suppose to be and the other lawyer did not show up is there something I am overlooking like I win by deafult or he mis-informed (or speculated) to the judge.

Thanks in advance

If I were you, look up your states code of ethics for attorneys. And if you find he has gone outside his bounds, file a complaint with the Bar. They will follow up.

The whole situations sounds "fishy" to me.
