Lawsuit Letter

What is the name of your state? Washington State

Hi guys, new here. Ok, here's my problem. My bf have a debt from the two credit card companys it's like $15000, so he got this people from the credit reduction company to work on his problem and everymonth my bf is paying them $800 a month for my bf's credit and just this month they reduce it for $300. Yesterday, my boyfriend got a letter from an attorney that the citibank and the other card filed a lawsuit against my bf, it says that my bf have to respond in 20 days after receiving the letter. The letter is dated June 16, and he just got it yesterday, some guy just knock on his door and gave it to him.

I am worried about this, I don't want my bf to go to jail and we don't have enough money to hire some lawyer for this. I just keep trying to tell myself that not to worry cause somebody is working with my bf's problem (credit reduction company) and he is paying them. It does not make any sense if the letter is dated at June 16 and he just got it yesterday. Every month my bf get an email from the credit reduction company for a monthly follow up or something that it says, if the credit card companies are calling him, just try to ignore cause they are just trying to scare him and my bf should nothing to worry about cause he hire them to work on his problems. So, if they are working on the problems why it ended up like this?

I am sorry about this, I am just so worried right now and I am sorry if you can't understand what I am saying cause I am freaking out right now. Please give my some advice to calm me down please.

Many credit repair places are complete rip-offs. I don't know about this particular one, but they may just be taking your bf's money. However, he will NOT go to jail. He needs to respond to this ASAP. Get an attorney. If you cannot pay for one, try legal aid. Some credit companies do not want payments (assuming the credit reduction company is paying) and will sue. If he keeps doing nothing, he could get a judgement against him.
