lawsuit for mother-in-laws nursing care balance

What is the name of your state? FL
my husband was served at work with a summons from his mother's previous nursing home for her outstanding balance of over $16,000.we have a discharged bankruptcy and cannot pay this bill. mother-in-law is in unresponsive state and my husband has all her bills paid through an irrevocable trust. she is in another facility and had finally been cleared for medicaid/medicare. if someone out there has any information i would appreciate hearing about it. we have 20 days to respond to this summons. thank you.

One- Did you sign an agreement with the nursing home as the responsible party and agree to pay the bill?

Two-Why is the trust not paying the bill?
