Leans & Garnishments? What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? Nevada I have several credit cards and personal loans that I have not been able to make any payments on since my divorce began nearly a year ago. I was a housewife and at home home for the last 20 yrs. I used to have great credit but since my split up I can hardly afford to pay rent & get food for me & the kids. I get the calls from the creditors all the time and I'm worried that they're gonna garnish my paychecks and levy my bank account. As soon as I can get the fee together I know I'm gonna have to file bankruptcy but that is also gonna take a while. My question is Can they get a judgement without me knowing about it? Can they attach my paychecks and levy my bank account without me knowing? Thank you |

| It can happen if you are actively trying to avoid service or, moved and left no forwarding address. Most courts have online access. See if your local courts have that service and if so, run your name through the search function every so often. |

| Thank you for your reply. I have moved here to Nevada from California, so I'm not really sure what county I should check in. Where would they sue me? In the county that they believe me to be in? Thank you |
